Question(s):
By your "inclexcl" file are you referring to DSM.OPT? I do not specifically
have an incexcl file on my Netware clients. DSM.OPT is where include and
exclude statements go (at least that is what we have been told!) There are
some generic inc/excl's that can be controlled by CLIENT OPTION SETS, on
the TSM Server side, but this is not specific to the individual client.
Are you simply trying to force an incremental backup on the client, or to
schedule a backup? To run a "forced" incremental, all you have to do is run
"load dsmc" from the server prompt, then when you get the tsm> prompt, type
i and hit enter. This is just the letter i (for incremental.) This kicks
off the backup. When it is done, unload TSM (<CTRL> c, or quit) then reload
the scheduler (load dsmc sched.)For scheduling backups, you will need to
work with the dreaded management classes (I think.)

Subject: Novell Server "selective" backup
To All,
I would like to schedule (from my ADSM 3.1.2.40 server) a "selective"
backup of
a Novell server. I want to backup the entire Novell server with the
exception
of the "excludes" define in my inclexcl file. The Novell client
documentation
does not show a clear example of this. I've tried:

nodename\*:*.*
*
*:*.*
etc....
I've also contacted ADSM support and they've been no help.
Any ideas....
