Gyula - The "error number" is the Unix (AIX) errno, in this case being
ENOTREADY (device not ready). This can show up when the devices
are in an Offline state. It sounds like the hardware is having a
problem; but the absence of error indications in the AIX error log is
peculiar. (I presume that you are seeing other, recent events in that
log such that you know that error logging is happening in general.)
I'd have your hardware support people check out the 3575 lib, and
demonstrate repeatability of the problem via 'tapeutil' to facilitate
diagnosis.
