I think what is normal is to have a primary copy and copypool copies that go offsite
on a daily basis. After a while there is a lot of overhead in maintaining the offsite
copy, especially reclaims of copypool volumes that are physically offsite.
In our situation we are adding a second tape library to house copypool volumes.
Reclamation of them will then be cartridge to cartridge instead of multiple mounts
from the primary storage pool. We expect to house the copypool tape library in a
separate building using fibre card onnections in the tape library for the drives.

Is it safe to say that you need both offsite and onsite copies as well as
the primary copies or should it be a business decision?
Thanks in Advance
