There are no problems like this that I am aware of in the 4.1.3.0 client.
At the time the service stops, is the client actively backing up data, or
just sitting idly by, waiting for the scheduled event?
Have you checked the dsmsched.log and dsmerror.log files? They might
contain some useful information. Also, check your system's Application and
System event logs to see if there are any messages that might pertain to
the problem.
Lastly, you mentioned that you are backing up to an ADSM server. Was that
just a "slip", or do you really mean *ADSM*? Win2K support won't work very
well, if at all, with an ADSM server. You might be able to back up regular
files, but system objects such as registry, RSM, etc., will almost
certainly not work, and could be related to the problem you are seeing
(assuming TSM was actively backing up data at the time you saw the service
stop).

Subject: TSM Client Agent randomly stopping on Windows 2000 SP2
Hello everybody!
First of all, I am sorry if this topic has been discussed before.. I am
new to this group...
I am running a Windows 2000 SP2 server, with IE6 and all the
patches/updates I have found..
Backup is taken to an ADSM server via TSM Backup Client Version 4, Release
1, Level 3.0.
Trouble is; every 10 minutes or so the TSM client agent service stops..
just like that..
I have made a "net start.. " script that runs every 10 minute, but that's
no good.. :-)
Any reason for this happening known to man? Or to IBM? ....
Patches? Updates? Changes? Magic?
Thank you very much in advance for any help, hints etc!
Regards from Oslo, Norway
