Thanks for the reply Andy. I can do manual backups. When I do a manual backup, I get the boot path error, but I can still execute the backup. It's just the scheduled items that appear to fail.
I am trying to back up a couple of files on the C: drive, and then several directories on the D: drive, but the error messages appear whenever the scheduler kicks off. The backups of the C: drive items fail, but the D: drive items now appear to be backing up. I get a message in my daily reports that the C: filespace has not backed up. The help request on the 1814E just says that the scheduled event is no longer valid on the server, and to see the sysadmin if the problem continues. That's me - and I'm of no further help to myself! The Windows version is Windows Server Standard Edition 2008 SP2 64-bit. . Sorry about that confusion. -----Original Message----- From: ADSM: Dist Stor Manager [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Andrew Raibeck Sent: Friday, May 31, 2013 1:57 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [ADSM-L] Boot Path Not Found Kevin, TSM tries to identify the boot drive, and if it can't, it writes that message about "Boot path was not found". However it should continue, and it will assume C: is the boot drive. Can you do manual backups? The ANS1814E at first blush does not appear related to this. Try running dsmc help ans1814e for info about that message and see if the explanation for the message applies (in which case would be coincidental with the boot path message). Can you clarify the Windows version? You said "Windows Server 2007 SP2 64-bit"; I am not sure if you mean 2003 or 2008. - Andy ____________________________________________________________________________ Andrew Raibeck | Tivoli Storage Manager Level 3 Technical Lead | [email protected] IBM Tivoli Storage Manager links: Product support: http://www.ibm.com/support/entry/portal/Overview/Software/Tivoli/Tivoli_Storage_Manager Online documentation: https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/mydeveloperworks/wikis/home/wiki/Tivoli Documentation Central/page/Tivoli Storage Manager Product Wiki: https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/mydeveloperworks/wikis/home/wiki/Tivoli +Storage+Manager/page/Home "ADSM: Dist Stor Manager" <[email protected]> wrote on 2013-05-30 13:49:24: > From: "Kinder, Kevin P" <[email protected]> > To: [email protected], > Date: 2013-05-30 13:57 > Subject: Boot Path Not Found > Sent by: "ADSM: Dist Stor Manager" <[email protected]> > > TSM 5.5.1.0 Windows client backing up to TSM running on z\OS. > The TSM client software is running on Windows Server 2007 SP2 64 bit. > > A couple of days ago, the motherboard on the Windows client was > replaced.
