Now that I have actually read this thread.
"We must understand darkness, to appreciate light".

Also, we must understand light to appreciate darkness.

Maybe it is not the light one should be chasing, but the darkness.
Light is limited, one can hold their hand up and cast a shadow to
block the light.
Light is temporary.
Sun, candle, light bulb, fire ..... all of these are temporary.
Before the light was darkness, after the light will be darkness.
In this vast darkness light is just a little bit if something
happening.
Close your eyes and your world evaporates.
