It is not really important what words we use but to say 'feel the I am sense' is maybe better than to 'watch it' or 'focus on it' because the I am sense is a sense, a feeling. So you feel it. It is not a thought. It's like an emotion but it's not an emotion. Second, we don't need to understand it, we just need to feel it as long as possible.
