This is not just a problem with "booth babes". Most of the people I talk
to at vendor shows have little or no practical knowledge of their
products. All they know is what appears in the marketing fluff.

But Perl is an object oriented language.

The reason for booth babes is simple. It is used to attract attention.
What better bait to get the attention of mostly male techs than a good
looking female.

This is not "objectifying women". This is simple biology.

Personally, I prefer getting toys at shows. At least I can take those
home.
