And now in Mr. Miler's honor a rousing chorus of the Internationale, after all
today is May Day - International Workers which was established by the Second
International to commemorate the 1886 Haymarket affair, which occurred during
the course of a three-day general strike in Chicago, Illinois that involved
common laborers, artisans, merchants, and immigrants. Following an incident in
which police opened fire and killed four strikers at the McCormick Harvesting
Machine Co. plant, a rally was called for the following day at Haymarket
Square. The Haymarket incident was a source of outrage from people around the
globe. In the following years, it was remembered with various May Day job
actions and demonstrations.

Stand up, all victims of oppression For the tyrants fear your might
Don't cling so hard to your possessions
For you have nothing, if you have no rights
Let racist ignorance be ended
For respect makes the empires fall
Freedom is merely privilege extended
Unless enjoyed by one and all
