If a useful definition and/or philosophical notion is to be arrived at, then some agreement as to what is included in the set of architecture must occur. Architecture can serve destructive purposes as well: Nazi crematoria. Architecture can be the manipulation of space through markers: monuments, obelisks, etc. Architecture can be the negative space formed by the perimeter of buildings, columns, walls, water features, earthworks, etc. such as in plazas. Architecture can be the plans, models, 3D views that allow us to conceptualize the work. Architecture can be furniture/features that is specifically selected/designed to enhance the overall work. Interior design is a subset of Architecture. Architecture can be art that is specifically selected/designed to enhance the overall work. The Sistine Chapel ceiling is one such example.
