On the tepid recommendation of Cheerskep, I've ordered a copy of "Philosophies
of Arts: An Essay in Differences", and hope to begin discussing it next week
or so.
I realize that Cheerskep wasn't all that impressed with it -- but then, what
is he impressed with? (other than Shakespeare)

useful it is to consider Music. Literature, Painting etc as members of one
class of things ("The Arts")
This is an issue that we have touched upon before -- as we questioned whether
the high level of skill and technique required for the production of Classical
music is also necessary in the Visual arts.
My initial take is that there are greater differences within each category
than between them. (so, for example Andy Warhol has much more in common with
punk Rock than with Claudio Bravo)
But ... let's see what Kivy has to say.
