So, Saul,  where do you think Mando's opinion of Manet's last painting came
from?

It was, as you put it, "out of the loop", quite outside those "dominant rules
of thought that are necessary to produce a relatively stable framework which
will enable and order social productivity."

And yet, Mando, the artist,  seems to have been at least as productive as
anyone else on this listserv.

And perhaps more so, in  that he is not afraid to share opinions that
disqualify him as a  knowledgeable,  educated  person - which opinions
challenge conventional knowledge and reveal its superficiality.  (ie. no one
has yet been able to counter his opinion with anything other than derision,
scorn, or name-calling)

Believe it, or  not, Saul, but some opinions actually do come from a personal
sense of truth that has developed outside those norms of social  conformity
which you take for granted.

And concerning such attachment to a personal sense of truth,  the word
"integrity" is properly applied.
