>But Miller would so enjoy being able to do it - all those citations, and notions of exotica. (Kate)
Yes -- "all those citations" is why I enjoy it. (and God help me, but I do love exotica) I don't have the time or interest to follow them all up -- but maybe I'll end up with one or two -- especially "The Book of the Courtier" . I like getting my art history first-hand, if at all possible -- and here's a guy who posed for Raphael. Mr. Ham-berger is giving us a guided tour through art historiography and post-war art theory from an informed outsider's p.o.v. Yes, he's something of a pompous goof -- with an affectation for expensive words -- but every chapter introduces me to more strange people and ideas. Did Louis Althusser really strangle his wife while "massaging her neck"? What a nutcase! Left wing academia certainly has some curious heroes. ____________________________________________________________ Weight Loss Program Best Weight Loss Program - Click Here! http://thirdpartyoffers.netzero.net/TGL2231/c?cp=cX5qRFqgO1IB7sloK5ns7AAAJz6c l_zTaptgNR5c8Mer1v9kAAYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAADNAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAEUgAAAAA=
