"tautological".   I write about gifted characters, and in every play I have 
some people of good will -- even though nasty people are much easier to 
write about, and they're usually necessary to give a plot vitality. That's my 
preference in life, too, and in works by others -- i.e. if there's no one in a 
story to root for, if everyone is dull or despicable, it's not for me -- 
either to read or to write.
