Around there the main thing they worry about is earthquakes. We've found that if you just throw a bunch of Simpson strong ties at all the corners, you're good to go.

I know I can build it and it will be just as sound as one designed by a structural engineer.  Poles, trusses, purlins etc.  Have done it before. 
 
Not having much luck in finding engineered drawings online.  Used to be a hardware store in SLC that sold stamped plans for things like this but no more. 
 
If anyone knows of such a source, please turn me on to it.
