Until AUE turns your Chromebook into a brick in 6.5 years.
Reminds me of Blade Runner, and the lifespan programmed into replicants. I've been using a chromebook exclusively for the last couple of weeks. It does everything I need and more. Biggest bonus is transparent updates & that I can pick up any old chromebook and get to my stuff. I also turned on Linux, so I can run a few Linux apps along side everything else. It's also at least 3X faster than an equivalent Windows box. Liking it more every day. -- bp part15sbs{at}gmail{dot}com On Wed, Jan 16, 2019 at 3:15 PM Jason McKemie <[email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> > wrote: https://www.amazon.com/CHROMEBIT-Stick-Desktop-RockChip-3288-C-LPDDR3L/dp/B0181JTPCU For the price difference the Windows 10 stick seems like a better option to me though. I recommend just getting a mini-PC and hiding it behind the monitor. Some can even run on 12V (may want to put power regulation in the power path depending on how stable the source is). From where do you usually buy PCs? No, I don’t want to cobble one together with a Raspberry PI etc. It is for permanent mounting in my splicing trailer so we always have access to the internet when out and about. Just make the techs run on their phone hotspots if they want to look up something with a decent sized screen. If they start streaming movies, well it is their data plan, not mine... -- AF mailing list [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> http://af.afmug.com/mailman/listinfo/af_af.afmug.com _____ -- AF mailing list [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> http://af.afmug.com/mailman/listinfo/af_af.afmug.com -- AF mailing list [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> http://af.afmug.com/mailman/listinfo/af_af.afmug.com -- AF mailing list [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> http://af.afmug.com/mailman/listinfo/af_af.afmug.com -- AF mailing list [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> http://af.afmug.com/mailman/listinfo/af_af.afmug.com
