Until AUE turns your Chromebook into a brick in 6.5 years.

Reminds me of Blade Runner, and the lifespan programmed into replicants.

I dunno. I've been using a chromebook exclusively for the last couple of weeks.
It does everything I need and more. Biggest bonus is transparent updates & that
I can pick up any old chromebook and get to my stuff.

I also turned on Linux, so I can run a few Linux apps along side everything
else. It's also at least 3X faster than an equivalent Windows box. Liking it
more every day.

For the price difference the Windows 10 stick seems like a better option to me
though.

Had no idea they were this cheap. And windows too. Windows alone used to be
more than this.

I don't recommend getting an all-in-one PC-monitor as you have limited monitor
size options, and if anything breaks inside, you're extremely limited in what
you can use to fix it.

I recommend just getting a mini-PC and hiding it behind the monitor. Some can
even run on 12V (may want to put power regulation in the power path depending
on how stable the source is). From where do you usually buy PCs?

built in. No, I don’t want to cobble one together with a Raspberry PI etc.

It is for permanent mounting in my splicing trailer so we always have access to
the internet when out and about. Just make the techs run on their phone
hotspots if they want to look up something with a decent sized screen. If they
start streaming movies, well it is their data plan, not mine...
