that's how the russian trolls are able to spread their FUD. they friend request your friends and your friends see you are friends so they must be ok friends and on and on. then you start seeing "news articles" in your feed from these new "friends of friends" so you blindly trust that they are friendly. all the while it's a bunch of bots and russian trolls taking advantage of our goods nature.
