Their demographics though slant toward soccer moms and older. I’m surprised so many people here are so enthusiastic about it. I observe 20-29 year olds using stuff like Reddit and Youtube not Facebook. I guess Facebook also has Instagram but that seems like a site for celebrities and fashion and style “influencers”, what we used to call shills. And Whatsapp, I know zilch about that.
Facebook seems like a house of cards to me, mediocre features, poor demographics, and falling out of favor for their aggressive collection and monetization of data without regard for privacy. All they seem to have going for them is lots of subscribers, and that could change quickly if something better came along. As Facebook buys other social media sites, I wonder how strong is the non compete agreement the sellers have to sign. I don't know why people hate it. It's seems fine to me. Althought I never scroll through the news feed anymore. I only check the wisp groups and our business page so I'm not fully into it. I try to see if I know them, generally I don’t recognize the name but there are mutual friends, most of whom I don’t really know. Many of these have some kind of imagery that is related to our industry. So generally confirm those. But I am deleting the rest. Anybody on this list, if you made a friend request and I did not confirm, just drop me a real email and warn me before you do it and I will confirm. I don’t want anyone to think I am aloof or unfriendly but far more people know me than I instantly recognize on a FB request. -- AF mailing list [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> http://af.afmug.com/mailman/listinfo/af_af.afmug.com _____ -- AF mailing list [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> http://af.afmug.com/mailman/listinfo/af_af.afmug.com -- AF mailing list [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> http://af.afmug.com/mailman/listinfo/af_af.afmug.com -- AF mailing list [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> http://af.afmug.com/mailman/listinfo/af_af.afmug.com
