Right, but could you chuck that into a cordless drill and get a
reasonable outcome or would it have to go in a milling machine?
I guess I was picturing an end mill with a pilot bit, but I'm not sure
if that's not a thing.

Dang it.....that makes an angled countersink. You'd need a flat
bottom for the flange on the SMA bulkhead connector. At a glance I
thought the depth stop was the cutting edge. Never mind, I'm stupid.
I know nothing.
If there is such a thing as a countersink bit that makes a flat bottom
hole in metal then maybe that's a way to go, but it doesn't seem to be
a simple thing to find.

Here you go. Countersink the hole with a bit like this. I should do
the googling before the answering next time.

Yes, the plate is nearly 4mm thick. I've seen these on radios before
so I know they exist but I just
can't seem to find them.

The screw terminal you refer to is the threads on the SMA
bulkhead connector? I take it you’re mounting it on a thick
plate of some kind? Wow, that’s a lot of thread, good luck.

I'm looking for an SMA to U.FL pigtail that has a longer screw
terminal. Most I've found
have ~14.5mm threads exposed, I'm looking for something closer
to 20mm.
I've search online but can't seem to find anything. Anyone know
of a source for this?
