Internet is a commodity. I think what sells is marketing and price. People don't understand or care about the technology. The marketing guys try to package technology as sizzle that people will pay for, they are scrambling to do that with 5G.
Yes, Tesla can sell technology, but they're not selling a commodity to a mass market. If the intent is to compete with the major ISPs in the US, rather than bring Internet to the third world, I think it comes down to how will they market it, and what will it cost. Does Musk plan on using channel partners like maybe DISH or rural telcos? Resellers? Direct to consumers?
