Looks like z wave may be the way to go. It appears I will need some kind of
controller to get started.
Would like to find switches that do not have to be wired to anything that
will control other switches.

You can do this with zwave and smartthings. I have a location in my house
that I control two separate circuits/lights with one switch. There are
tons of difference ways to set this stuff up.
