They'll send mobile service out for easy things like cabin filter replacements,
headlight or tail light replacements, charge port issues, 12v battery
replacement, etc.

Anything big like electric motor, HV battery, Hvac, body or paint issues
require bringing it to the service center.

We have several friends and a couple relatives with different models of Teslas;
mostly Model S and Model 3 AFAIK. Every single one tells me they one of thebest
cars they've ever owned.

I've heard a couple tell me about them coming to your home for service. What is
"service" for a Tesla? Rotate tires I guess. No oil to change. Oh yeah, fill
the windshield washer fluid.

It depends on what they're working on. Most things they can have done in a day
or same day sometimes. If they're sending the car to a body shop then it can
take longer.

Some service centers are probably busier than others. Our two in Minnesota both
do a great job with timely repairs. They provide a loaner tesla which is nice.

He likes the car. He said waiting a week for repairs and having to use the
elite Tesla repair shop is just a little ridiculous.

Matt,

I have a Model 3 and it's the best thing I've ever driven and owned. Nothing is
more fun and I've driven lots of sports cars.

Your brother in law may be the 1 or 2% of people who just don't like the
product they bought. You can't satisfy 100% of your customers but out of all
auto manufacturers in the US, tesla had the highest satisfaction rate for a
reason. They're fun as hell and get smarter/better every few weeks with new
updates.

I went the other way a couple months ago and got a diesel. Me and three others
got plowed by a semi driver not paying attention doing about 40mph while we
were all basically stopped in a construction zone. I was last in line. Enough
damage that my insurance co totaled my 2011 Silverado and cut a check. Opted
for the new 2020 Silverado with the 3.0 Duramax. The 30 MPG ain't bad. It
doesn't have the diesel stank or the black clouds. Is that like a hipster
diesel? Maybe not Murica enough either?
