Depends on the size of the screen. SD on an 80" TV will look like crap but on your 4.5" smartphone, it will look much better as it's not blown up like a TV.
When I go on Norwegian cruise ships, they use Procera to limit video streams to about 600 kbps and while it takes 20 seconds for Netflix to start, it rarely buffers during a 45 minute episode. They have to use DPI as they only have about 300 mbps satellite internet for a ship of 6000+ passengers and staff. And they charge $30 per day for the streaming package and VPN. Other packages cost less but block all streaming. Hopefully starlink will improve the bandwidth for marine applications once they get the laser links working. Then each ship should be able to have 1 gig or more of bandwidth. Pricing should go down to something more reasonable like $10 a day then for wifi.
