We are looking at a new hire, but there are certain things I want to require of them, knowledge wise, some of which requires reading or watching a video. Can you require an employee obtain a knowlege set without compensation directly? It's no different than required knowlege ahead of time to me. No issue with it being pay increase based. ie learn X, another dollar an hour.
