Why not just get a simple audio interface? I have one of these, and it's less
than $70 on Sweetwater right now. It’s got the 2 XLR inputs, and it connects to
the computer via USB.

I know lots of you guys dabble in the world of music and stagecraft. So I
thought I'd ask, as sometimes knowing the right word to search for is all the
help.

I'm trying to come up with a solution to get a mix from a soundboard (2x XLR
output for stereo) to a remote location in the building for out of room mixing
for the web stream. Pulling a cable would be about 400' and very difficult
run. I already have 1G network between the 2 locations, and the board itself
is already on the network. Is there a simple way to get the high quality XLR
mix onto the network so I can listen to it somewhere else? Ideally a plug and
play solution that anyone can use, I don't really want to have to maintain
encoding software on a PC.
