I turned the external gain down to 0 just to see if that was it; no soap.

Then I changed the band to 5.4 GHz, and it let me set the power to 19 dBm.

Then I changed it back to 5.7 GHz, and for a moment, it went to 22 dBm. Until I clicked on "Save Changes", then it went back to 19 dB.

We're using these with 28 dBm panels, so we should be ~~ 50 dBm EIRP (minus cable loss). That "should" be legal AFAIK.

So the GUI is turning it down for reasons I don't understand...

This will be an 8.6 mile PTP link. I could use every drop of dBm that I can eek out of these puppies.

External gain setting? I've also noticed that if the carrier frequency is set to None, it will let you put in the max Tx power for the hardware. Set a real frequency and you're limited to whatever regulatory EIRP it was authorized for. For instance, if it's a connectorized unit, Cambium probably had it certified with a 2' dish at 28-29dBi, so it would not surprise me if all you get is +19 to meet spectral masks and OOB crap. Like the 2.4 450SM on a reflector cannot operate above 2460 on a 20MHz channel because of whatever impedance thing happens with that.

The master is locked to North America/United States.

But when first powered the unit on, it __*was*__ set to 22 dBm. After I configured it, it went to 16/16 (19 combined), and won't let me change it.

You've got something regulatory going on.. the radios can transmit up to 22dbm combined H+V.. or perhaps your seeing the single chain power level of 19 dBm..
