Just came in. Interesting. Of course, this is with one BTS doing split sectors.
With 2 BTS, you could do 360 in this model.

We are located on the bald prairie, low density deployments. We do not
necessarily need NLOS, but we do need distance and throughput.

We are currently testing this equipment, with 2x2 operation.

LOS 20km with the CPE7000, achieved 65Mbps. Hope to go 25km with external
antennas.
Near LOS to a community about 5 miles from our tower, able to achieve -98 to
-104 RSRP and CINR of 15 to 22, over 60Mbps on all CPE

So while 4x4 will give you the benefits for your deployment, 2x2 is giving us
what we want.

But, 2x2 doesn't get the multipath NLoS penetration that is a big part of what
makes Telrad's gear interesting.

As I understand it, if you are going 2x2, you are missing out on half the
benefits and bringing along all of the extra costs associated with the LTE
core. It might be a cheap way in, but I wouldn't expect to see "Grail"
performance.

Disclaimer: we don't have any in the air yet.
