I think more annoying is you can have 2 radios with the same identical P/N, you
upgrade them both to new FW, and they end up with different capabilities. You
almost need to upgrade all your radios on the shelf every time new FW comes out
and test to see what bands are available, and what EIRP they are limited to.

And I’m starting to wonder, if we have radios we bought that are sitting here
in the box waiting for lower bands (U-NII-1 or DFS) to be unlocked, and that
never happens, will we be able to return them?

Yeah... and I seem to remember them assuring us that we wouldn't have to
resticker again...

At least the stickers go on the radios this time instead of the dishes.

Yes. They didn't learn their last sticker lesson, so they repeated it.

  stickers?

Are we supposed to be restickering radios again?

That probably explains why it can't be enabled through the GUI yet.

hmm... weird, I think the most I had on an AP was 5 CPEs, but

G rates and one polarity it was about time to upgrade.

Wifi mode actually does work on the ePMP APs - it's just kind

to work fine... I've used it a few times to convert towers from UBNT to ePMP.

I can dig up the commands if you want to know how to do it.

That's the only way to do it now. It sucks since I want to
replace some single pol Mikrotik APs with dual pol, it would be preferred to
jump to dual pol Wifi with epmp and then when all the CPEs are moved, go from
Wifi to TDD.

Same here. Unfortunately Wifi mode doesn't work at all
on the AP. That's coming in 2.5 which is supposed to be this year.

Anybody know, has there been any change in status
regarding U-NII-1? I've
searched the UBNT Forums and can't find anything other
than SOON.

Ignoring AC series and just focusing on M5, last I
heard the products
capable of operating in 5150-5250 (without buying
bootleg INTL versions)
were Rocket, NS, NS Loco, and NanoBridge. With the
NanoBridge being a
legacy product being kept around until the NanoBeams
were approved. And I'm
not sure they are still on the shelf anywhere.

Have they even filed the lab report on the M5
NanoBeams, much less provided
license keys, stickers, and firmware? I think the
Powerbeam AC and maybe
Nanobeam AC were a little farther along, with approval
and licenses/stickers
but no firmware yet, perhaps because they want to also
get DFS in there,
perhaps because they are resubmitting to the lab to get
higher EIRP under
                        the new rules?

Is there any hope for a NanoBeam that will talk to a
Rocket M5 in U-NII-1?

I mean seriously, are we going to have to start taking
down Rocket APs and
replacing with ePMP? Having Rockets or Nanostations as
the only CPE choices
                        is just not viable.

Is UBNT just focusing on AC now? They don't talk to M
series though, do
                        they?
