At my former job, we had Juniper switches at every “leaf” tower site and at
major “hub” sites we had Juniper MX routers with Juniper switches as well. At
one time, similar setup but Cisco routers at each and every site.

Worked extremely well – very reliable. Am I saying it was better than MT?
Don’t know … don’t see it used very much in my line of work. Having said that,
my current employer uses MT in their wireless networks so I’ll be spending more
time looking into them and understanding them better I’m guessing… that area is
run by a different group than mine.

They are there, but usually not the best suited for the roll. If I were to
replace my MTs with anything, it'd be Telco Systems for CE. The rest of that
stuff belongs in a datacenter or a wiring closet, not a tower.

They are a great option for lots of WISP’s but there are *many* that doesn’t
use MT …. Cisco/Juniper/Brocade etc come to mind as other options used…

They're far from perfect, but they're the best fit for almost everyone.

How could you have been a WISP and not dealt with Mikrotik at all?

I am pretty ignorant as to the abilities of any Mikrotic device.
Can you enlighten me?

Why not just a Mikrotik CCR?
