[AFMUG] Can you be too close to use a dish?

I upgraded a customer to 2.4 ePMP last week that was about .6 miles from 
the tower.  The signal with just an integrated SM was -67 so I decided 
to use one of Chuck's dishes for ePMP but only got an extra 2 to 3 db 
improvement.   The last time (only time) I used the dish I got 8 to 10 
db improvement but was about 2 miles from the tower.  Is that too close 
to the tower for a dish or is that just the nature of wireless?
