One of the fun things you can do with Asterisk (and FreePBX in this case), and the right phones... Set up a paging extension that immediately puts all registered SIP phones into speakerphone mode and announces a page. Works great with Yealink phones.
In FreePBX, create a paging group and add extension numbers into the group. The paging group itself will be a new extension number. Then set up an IVR to access the paging group, with a four digit PIN so that not just anybody can dial the paging extension and page all the phones simultaneously. It is kind of fun to do in a large empty office and hear your voice coming out of 40 phones simultaneously.
