It was their problem.

Their Brocade wasn’t doing 32 bit ASN, and they found a work around.
So now it works.

Ok, I think this might be their problem.

They are back in office tomorrow so I’ll see if I can get their config instead
of status page.

I’ll do a BGP print from my mikrotik as well tomorrow to make sure.

Dennis from LinkTechs is doing my config, so I’m sure it will be configured
correctly once we get past stage one, lol!

32 bit BGP AS works fine between Mikrotik and Brocade MLXe. They have a config
issue. Have them send you running-config pertaining to your session. Also post
your config.

post your bgp config pls.

Also, why are they using next hop self = yes.

and based on what you posted on the MT Forum (it is not the config, more of a
status ..) would indicate that Their side is complaining about your ASN.

This is what I see.

I posted their config in this mikrotik post here:

http://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=103924

I appreciate your help.

It’s got to be something simple on their end or my end.

I have nearly the same config set up on another 1072 to another peer and it
enteres the accept state with the same ASN.
So I’m still leaning towards it being their Brocade.

Enable BGP logging in Mikrotik, this should give you better detail. Make sure
the info you get back in the log is correct (that they have your AS set right),
and double check your config.

I'm running one of those new fancy routerboard CCR 1072 routers on RouterOS
6.33.1.

If I use my 32 bit BGP AS number the remote says Bad Remote AS.
If I fake one around 65010 then it establishes a connection.

Is this my problem or theirs?

They are using Brocade MLXe code 5.8.

Anyone else established a succesfull BGP with 32 bit AS number on routeros?

Just want to try and narrow this down before I blame their Brocade for being
complete junk, hahaha!
