I am regularly reminded (usually by looking in the mirror) that if the people
followed the commands of the cops, they'd probably be alive now. i mean,
except for maybe the one guy who did not speak clearly. usually when i watch
one of these videos they're struggling or trying to get away or fighting
back....

i mean i don't like taking "commands" as much as the next guy but as few a
runins with the cops as i've had, i'd prefer just to take the order/request and
sit down and shut up.

my worst experience with a cop was on sept 12 2001. i changed lanes and got
pulled over. i guess they thought that was suspicious. i guess we were all a
little on edge.

Once lethal force is authorized / warranted is there really much
difference
between an officer waiting an hour and putting a bullet through his head
when he gets a chance and the police blowing him up? Dead is dead once you
decided dead is an option as soon as its possible its all semantics after
that. At least that's where we ended up when discussing it.

A motivated individual can run 200 feet in 8 or 9 seconds. If he's
wearing
some kind of body armor he can possibly get further before being brought
down. Add some kind of shrapnel to the explosives and now you've got a
lot
of projectiles flying toward the officers that were previously shooting at
      the bad guy.

My impression was that the guy wasn't really talking, and he'd
already shot a dozen officers (at least 3 or 4 fatally). At that
point, I feel that any means necessary to prevent more damage.

Call it the nuclear option if you will.

Better to have him caged for the rest of his life IMHO.
