Back in the 60s, mobile homes, modular homes and some stick built homes were
wired up with aluminum romex. The aluminum would oxidize at screw terminals on
receptacles, get hot and catch fire. So, in a typical overreaction it was
banned. Homes were fixed by using a crimp sleeve to put copper tails on all
the aluminum in the walls. Appraisers and insurance companies were and
probably still are on the lookout for aluminum romex.

But if the aluminum is terminated to something that is designed for aluminum
wires you will be fine.

The aluminum will oxidize. It's recommended to use No-ox to prevent it.
