I've never seen a level of religion in IT equivalent to the cable religion on this list. It's kinda nuts.

That's the 7919a and equivalent. Good cable, just a PITA. And
expensive. The foil tears easily. I like everything about the
Shireen 1042 for tower cable. Larger tinned stranded drain wire
would be nice, but meh. The foil is more than heavy enough and
isn't brittle like the Belden/Best-Tronics stuff.

Have you tried the Shireen DC-1042? It’s similar to Belden, but
the foil isn’t bonded to the jacket so you can actually fold it
back. It has the dry gel impregnated tape instead of the clear
mylar in the Belden. Only thing I miss maybe is the stranded
drain wire. I forget which Belden version has that, we used to
buy both 1300a and 7919a, I think maybe it was the 7919a that had
    the stranded drain wire.
The Shireen pullboxes work pretty nice.

thats how the belden is, soft sheath is more durable. I love
coming across it. the apex is prone to pinholing and kinking

I don’t buy Commscope 5NF4 anymore because the installers
won’t use it because they hate the goo. They do have to admit
however when they go to a 10 year old install that it stands
up to the weather really, really well.

if i was in charge, we never would have gone away from the
belden on the residential outdoor. apex 9 in the winter is so
stiff, the foil tears and the drain is like a bread tie. but
at least its not green toughcable :-)

We do sell Primus, Belden, and Shireen as well if you
would rather use one of those cables.

belden something or other was the greatest

but these mopes here where i work like apex 9, I think
its utter shit with its ultrathin foil and brittle copper
