I have an employee that was injured on the job. New entry level temp labor employee was handling something that was far heavier than he suspected, it got loose and came down on his toes. Broke a toe I think. It was a legit workplace injury.
So the workers comp doctor finally cleared him to come back to work, but no walking for more than 200 feet, no lifting, no standing more than 30 minutes, no climbing ladders. The workers comp doctors really milk these things. The kid was hired to lift and dig and stand. I have no clue if we can just tell him to stay home without pay until he can do his job, or if we can lay him off or what???? Anyone been through this before?
