Teflon is wonderful stuff, but kind of expensive for that application. I have used rubber gasket material like from an auto parts or hardware store, if it isn’t exposed to sunlight, it should hold up fine. Or slit some neoprene fuel or radiator hose and slip it over the pipe before clamping to it.
Would be better to fix the grounding problem though. Better than relying on the tower. And insulating the gear makes sure that your separate ground wire is not becoming the primary ground circuit for the whole tower.
