Probably be fine.    The first couple we did had the center door in the panel.  
 I thought it was cool that you could walk back and forth and I liked being 
able to work inside and get to the tools and equipment when it was rainy or 
cold out.   Of course the installers promptly piled everything behind the door 
and that was the end of that.   Don’t see why you couldn’t leave the door out 
completely.
