I would think lead-acid batteries are almost 100% recyclable, I’m not sure about Li-Ion. I try to avoid Chinese made AGM batteries because of their poor track record on the environment, but it’s hard to avoid them entirely.
Maybe I’m naïve, and when I take used batteries to the battery dealer for recycling, they toss them in the dumpster and they are hauled to the landfill. But I would think at least the lead would be worth enough to recover.
