My past experience is that is a NO, LOL, thats why I was asking about x86. Thinking we may give them 10G uplink and then they can do 1G to their transport, so they can limit their networks for DDOS protection. Look at routerboard.com at Interfaces. There is only a SFP 1G Copper Interface. The direct link cables look to thick and cheap for fiber. Maybe this is copper. The day is coming though eventually when we will need something with a few more SFP+ ports but by then hopefully there will be something new. There is an 8 port SPF+ router but we also need some with Ethernet cables as well. Also 10GbE ports would be nice too. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Stefan Englhardt" <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> To: "af" <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> Sent: Thursday, October 6, 2016 3:01:48 AM Subject: Re: [AFMUG] suggestions for WISP headend Mikrotik We are happy with CCR1036-8G-2S+EM. In a redundant scenario you could connect 2 with a 10G SFP+ direct attach cable and there is one 10G Port left. Lot of power for VPLS concentrator or PPPOE Server. We use 2 of them for BGP Uplink. Another concentrates VPLS Tunnels and does PPPOE. Von: Af [mailto:[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>] Im Auftrag von Erich Kaiser Gesendet: Donnerstag, 6. Several 1G ports with option for 10G. I know they can go x86, but want to know what is the best hardware for this? Thanks!
