I've seen the same thing on some Rockets, but it doesn't seem terribly
common... I suspect they might all do it eventually, with enough exposure to
the elements, but we've had hundreds of them out there for 5+ years that are
still fine.

I've been putting that clear Gorilla tape over the LEDs on all of our ePMP APs,
after we had the sticker come loose on a couple of them, and it seems to be
working pretty well. I also used it on some Rockets that had this issue (but
were still working fine, oddly enough) and it seemed like it sealed it up
pretty nicely.

Replaced this NS Loco, oddly it was still working. See how the LED holes are
open? Is this a common problem, as in will they all eventually do this?

This was on a mast facing east, so the back was exposed to the west wind. The
holes behind the mast seem to have suffered less.

At first I thought they had been pecked by birds, but there was no sign
whatsoever of bird poop, so I don’t think that’s it.

I was thinking maybe we should put a piece of Super 88 vinyl tape over the LEDs
at new installs, we don’t use the LEDs much anyway. But also I see there is
clear Gorilla repair tape that claims to be UV resistant and suitable for
outdoor use. Maybe we just put a strip of that over the LEDs?
