Any time we have a fluorescent ballast die, we just replace with LEDs. Rip the ballast out and wire it 110 hot. We get 4 foot T8 size internal transformer 120v bulbs for like $10 each, shipped. They pull about 15 watts and put out 30, 35 or 40W "equivalent". I forget exactly how much. All I know is, if you have two 35 or 40W bulbs in a fixture now, a single LED will be damn near the same amount of light (or at least appear to be). We're remodeling half of the building and all of those 4 bulb 4' fixtures will get converted to 110 and get two LEDs. 50-60% reduced power consumption for lighting isn't bad at all. And all of our generator backed lighting is LED, so the less load on the generator the better.

Based on the numbers you gave, you'd end up saving around $14 a year in power. The installation and equipment could run between $3500-$4200, roughly.

    My system has about 24 bays with three bulbs each drawing about

    Do I save much by going LED on these? What's ROI?
