When in doubt, arp

No joy. Got tired and took the laptop home.
Fired it up to check email (had to turn on the wireless adapter).
  OK fine, working.

Checked the interface settings and they are all gone and it is set to DHCP...

Tomorrow when I plug this thing back into ethernet, I wonder if my 192
address is going to magically appear.

  Something odd for certain.

You can always get to ePMP's on 169.254.1.1 - might be worth trying that.

That is what I was doing. No IP talking going on. Almost as if the laptop
is not running the subnet mask.

i think i would try to isolate one piece of equipment at a time
can you talk to the netonix and nothing else? (connected directly)
can you talk to the epmp and nothing else? (connected directly)

check the netonix to make sure in system settings it does not restrict
access coming from only
one subnet. in fact, i think we had that problem as well and that was what
i had to uncheck to be
    able to access it.

    good luck! lunchtime!

Hooked up to lan, reconfigured IP settings, can talk to the world. This
email is from the laptop.
So, it has to be something dumb in the IP settings...

I note netonix says to https and cambium is http.
But more basic than that, I cannot ping 192.168.x.x

      Arrgh..

Trying to configure a Netonix switch and an epmp 2000.
      Dell Laptop. W10

getmac shows that the radio is present, so I presume that means my
interface on the computer is functional.
eth lights on the radio and switch both light.

192.168.0.100 - 255.255.255.0 is the laptop (took out everything else).

      Tried 255.255.0.0 mask

Tried 192.168.1.10 address to talk to netonix at 192.168.1.20

No pings, no arp, no browsing etc.
Tried different cables, power supplies etc.

Gotta be something really silly. Or I have blown up my ethernet
interface.
I have to believe it is a user error... Something really basic.

At some point I am going to have to connect that laptop to the lan to
verify it can still talk to the world. But I am sure I must be misconfiguring
something. I am sure nobody messed with the IPs of the radio and switch.
