I think there are residential routers you can buy at Best Buy and Amazon, and then the carrier class routers you don’t find in stores because they come as part of the service from AT&T, Comcast, etc. and made by Calix, Pace, etc. Often integrated with a cable modem, fiber interface, etc. Often with Quantenna chips inside, and true active beamforming. Usually tall black monoliths like the one from 2001 Space Odyssey, with internal antennas which apparently are best for NxN MIMO.
