Yes, Mike while this is a position one can choose to take, I would argue that it is a position is at best one of 'short term' which would lead to self destruction.
for many reasons:- Telco's and ILEC's are working on a 20, 30 year out look, while you and I can barely see beyond a year or so. They are big enough to buy whom ever they want. So if you think that there is a lot of competitive fiber available, check again, and you will see that the amount of choices in the market place are shrinking due to acquisitions. Just look at who Folks such as Centurylink has gobbled up in the last 5-10 years. Look at the count of independent competitive providers by count 10 -15 years ago vs today.
