Every bolt is meant for me. God just has really bad aim.

hell, how he didnt slip, i dont know. I just kne2 if lightning struck,
it was more likely to hit that 120 foot long metal cage than my wet ass.
Ive always looked at lightning to people hits as a predestined
outcome. You already pissed that god off, it didnt matter where you
were, but why draw attentiin to yourself

First strike of the day was a cloud-to-cloud strike DIRECTLY above
the tower. Scared the crap out of me. I yelled for them to go to
the car, and you've never seen anybody climb down a tower so
fast. Still wouldn't ever consider riding a guy wire down.
That's just crazy. The odds of that specific tower taking the
strike are still less than the odds of something going wrong with
any other crazy method for getting down.

never been on a tower with lightning closer than a mile or so,
but, realistically, given the slim chance that your tower that
you happen to be on and the massive chance of serious risk or
injury from riding a guy (or wire) down a tower, Id think just
climbing down is your safest bet.
On that note, if you were on a well grounded tower that was
struck, aside from the lightning hitting you direct, would it
hurt you, like those helicopter guys who bond to transmission
lines

Tech’s condition is stable after he allegedly rode guy
wire down from an ATC Texas tower
"A tower tech is reported to be in stable condition and is
expected to be released from a hospital tomorrow after
reportedly using a guy wire to descend from his work
station on an American Tower Corp. 300-foot guyed tower
off of Highway 183 in Cuero, Tex."
