I've never used those. Seems like people either love em or hate em.
I imagine it must be easier to maintain the maximum untwist amount. It
seems like you could keep shoving the wires through until you only have
the 1/4" of untwisted wire you're looking for. That's pure speculation
though.

Subject: Re: [AFMUG] Cable crimpers for RJ-45 work
I used those when I first started, I am also not a fan. I had all kinds
of problems with getting them to fit the Ethernet port on Canopy SMs,
the release tab didn't want to snap into place. Having said that, I
still have a couple of the Platinum Tools crimpers and they work fine.

Passthrough RJ45? Or other style connectors? Only the RJ45 is done
from the end. The other dies go in from the side (as is typical).

I have a Paladin that has replaceable dies. It's a little
different in that you insert the RJ45 from the end instead of the
side. I have dies for all the usual suspects, RJ45, RJ11, BNC, N
connectors, etc.

What are you kool kats using for your LAN cable crimps?
Mine started breaking end of connectors and caused some issues.
Luckily I had a spare...looking at the Klein one but open to
suggestions.
