HISTORIC CAPOEIRA EVENT TO BRING TOP MASTERS TO LOS ANGELES

Four Day Conference Will Include Workshops, "Rodas," Music And
Instruction By Top Capoeira Angola Instructors.

OCTOBER 8-11, 2004

LOS ANGELES, September 14, 2004 - The 4th Annual Capoeira de Angola Conference Los
Angeles, to be held October 8 - 11, 2004 was announced recently. Organized by the
Capoeira Angola Center of Los Angeles, with assistance from the City of Inglewood,
this year's event, entitled "Let The Circle Be Unbroken," brings the three top living
Mestres (Masters) of Capoeira Angola to the West Coast for the first time in history:
From New York City, Mestre Joo Grande, the recipient of a NEA National Heritage
Fellowship, 2001; Mestre Joo Pequeno of Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, and 2004
Grammy-nominated artist, Mestre Moraes, also of Salvador, Brazil.

The four-day conference is attracting participants both locally and from around the
world, and will be an intense celebration of Capoeira Angolathe highly sophisticated
African-Brazilian multi-disciplinary artform that combines playful sparring, music,
dance, acrobatics, ritual, strategy and philosophy into a unique game that's both
dangerous and beautiful. Capoeira was a cultural weapon used to break the chains of
slavery in Brazil, where until the early 20th century it was practiced in secret under
penalty of death. It is now practiced around the world.

This event is noteworthy in that it offers the unique opportunity to learn first-hand
from and experience the three top artists in the field. These three Mestres are the
direct link to the ancient African teachings preserved and passed down through the
centuries via oral traditionhence the conference's theme, "Let the Circle be
Unbroken."

The conference will kick off with an opening night celebration, and will feature Baba
Fasina Falade, traditional Ifa priest, author and founder of the Ara Ifa Ijo Orunmila
Temple; Baba Felipe Garcia Villamil, (Matanzas, Cuba) traditional Yoruba & Congolese
Priest & Master Drummer also recipient of a NEA National Heritage Fellowship, 2000;
the Capoeira Mestres and additional honored guests.

The conference will offer workshops, rodas (Capoeira "encounter"), a film festival,
lectures, discussions, and free community events."This is a huge event! It's the first
time in the history of Capoeira Angola that something like this is happening in
California," says Omoade, of the Capoeira Angola

Center in Los Angeles. "We're looking forward to some great rodas with incredible
Capoeira games and music," he said, "because of the caliber of the people attending.
We have the top people in the field, plus their top students people are coming from
all over the world. This conference is energizing the community."

The fees for the Conference are $175 from September 18 to October 7, 2004, or $200
through October 8, 2004. For more information on this event, Capoeira Angola, and/or
the instructors, as well as a schedule, please feel free to contact Omoade at the
Capoeira Angola Center of Los Angeles: (323) 291-8723 or visit the website:

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

16th Annual Los Angeles Black Business Expo & Trade Show 2004

I certainly want to take the time to thank you for being a partner in our efforts to
promote Africa, the United African Federation wish to extend their gratitude towards
the organizers of the Black Business Expo and the Africa/USA International Chamber of
Commerce for working towards a united Africa.

We thank the Vice President of the Republic of Uganda Prof. Gilbert Bukenya who headed
a delegation from Uganda and the Ambassador of Uganda to USA Mrs. Edith Ssempala. We
thank the Africans and the Americans for giving a colorful welcome to the African
delegation and making the whole occasion a success. We thank all the African
delegation who came from different countries e.g. South Africa which was headed by
their Ambassador to the USA, Ethiopia was headed by their head of Counsel, the Kenyans
and all other Africans and Americans who showed a spirit of patriotism for Africa.

As the saying goes united we stand and divided we fail. Fellow brothers and sisters
time is against us therefore we need more action and less talk. We should minimize
time and maximize work. God bless Africa, God bless America.

WEBSITE NEWS Store to Re-Open this weekend!

Keep your eyes peeled for the reopening of our Webstore. In the past it was
always difficult to Maintain our webstore with the rigorous touring schedule. We
found the perfect solution!

Antibalas is proud to have teamed up with Banzai to manage our
Fulfillment business. Banzai was created in 1988 by two former
Greenpeace employees eager to make their mark in the apparel business.
For 13 years Louis and Gina Marks perfected their alternative business model,
developing relationships with suppliers, employees and a growing
number of customers.

Their basic business of tie dyed apparel grew over time to include
every part of apparel manufacturing, from fashion design to garment
decoration. While other companies were busy buying products from
wherever they could, Banzai developed relationships with a network of
companies who support basic human values, such as a living wage, a
strong work ethic, environmental responsibility, and honest business dealings.
Its no surprise that these are mostly smaller US manufacturers.

This approach inevitably led Banzai to the music business. They found they
have much in common with musicians and independent record labels.
Banzai provides a full service for their clients, from garment design and
production to web fulfillment. Their accuracy rate on web orders is over 99%.
Banzai is happy to service our fans, who they consider to be a part of the
extended Banzai community.

It is Banzai's belief that a socially conscious community is evolving in the
world, united through music, art, and the common goal to influence the world around
us. We consider Banzai to be a link to the more human business model of the future.

Privacy and Security and timely fulfillments and shipping of orders is our
priority and With Banzai well be able to make it happen better than in the past.
