Hi,
I was given some help trying to do something simpler, cannot remember who.
played with this idea I think its Glpro v7 syntax.
It's not exactly what you are lookinf for but it may give you some ideas.
Two programs program1 activates program2, program2 controls program1
Program1 sample:
declare buf1 buf2 fbuf ;-- get the buffer addresses
PLAYMPEG:
LOAD d:\uniplay\HANDSET.EXE
SAVE ( @windir )\HANDSET.EXE
FREE HANDSET
WIN STYLE POPUP dlgframe CLIPCHILDREN visible
clearscr black
win position -1 -1
VIDEO @deskxsize-6 @deskysize-6 16
mci "open "@cmdline$" alias MPEG parent "@winhandle$" style child"
mci "put MPEG window client at 0 0 "@X$" "@Y$""
;---------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------
; start the program that will be sending the messages to this program
; passing the addresses of the memory that you want to use
;---------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------
exec handset.exe @buf @rbuf @fbuf
;---------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------
; begin main routine
;-- just wait until the buffer contains a value, then do something
;---------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------
setupdll int SetCapture handle
setupdll int ReleaseCapture
;color 0
MCI "seek MPEG to end"
MCI "STATUS MPEG POSITION"
set @fbuf @0
MCI "seek MPEG to start"
when mousedown inside 0 0 @deskxsize @deskysize gosub panshow
SetCapture @winhandle
mark
waitmsg
MCI "STATUS MPEG POSITION"
set @rbuf @0
if @@buf>0
if @@buf==1
delete ( @windir )\handset.exe
power
endif
if @@buf==2
zoomin
endif
if @@buf==3
zoomout
endif
if @@buf==4
loopplay
endif
if @@buf==5
sounddown
endif
if @@buf==6
soundup
endif
if @@buf==7
Xsoundoff
endif
if @@buf==8
grabp
endif
if @@buf==9
tostartp
endif
if @@buf==10
back1p
endif
if @@buf==11
playp
endif
if @@buf==12
pausep
endif
if @@buf==13
stopp
endif
if @@buf==14
fwr1p
endif
if @@buf==15
goendp
endif
endif
loop
;-----------END
Program2 sample: "handset.exe" simple controls the value of the buffer.
I just had a simple menu with hotspots that changed the value if the buffer.
PAUSE, PLAY, STOP, etc.
;-- set the buffer to the message to be sent
set @buf1 2
;----END
If you set the buffer to 2 Program1 will DO the IF statement:
if @@buf==2
zoomin
endif IF
so on up to 15
Only thing I remember having a problem with, is Program2 must shut it,s self
down.
If you need more help with this sample just let me know.

Subject: Applications discussing
Hi folks !
I am trying to find out a solution to discuss (send data and call
subroutines) between glpro exe´d applications.
So, I have a master (M) and a slave (S) program running.
Need to "scriptcall" from M a routine in S and return the value back to M.
Hoping someone has already a solution and is willing to share it.
Regards,
Aki Veijalainen
