The first cell emerged on Earth 3.8 billion years ago, today we have cities full of humans. The change that happens each day is always a lot - air blows around, soil churns, atoms jiggle, energy transfers. So what is the difference between 3.8 billion years ago and tomorrow's change? Negentropy - that is the difference. And more negentropy happens each next day than the last day. Today we are much closer to the final form of Earth than 3.8 billion years ago. The final form of Earth will be one that is quickest to re-generate back to the final form if 45% of itself with blown to bits by a huge disaster. It's like a monkey compared to a educated doctor - who can replace their broken organ faster? You know yourself that possibly within 100 years the whole Earth will transform into a nanobot supercreature made of the artificial cell. That's a LOT of negentropy blown away very fast, it's a very powerful system, and it can repair anything very fast - broken wall - no problem. We are reaching this supercreature exponentially soon, lots of good change will occur and the whole Earth will transform massively, it will be able to repair things ultra fast, and that is exactly why evolution is so quick near the end, the amount of repair/rejuvenation doubles each day. The thing (Earth) adding back itself is able to add back MORE every time it adds back more of itself. A raw example is more humans=more regeneration of the supercreature. Humans made machines and eventually bigger computers and software. This information, not our DNA, is now evolving. This information is re-generating itself through us manipulating it using unsupervised algorithms and our own brains too still. Just like more humans meant more advancements, more and better data means the faster the supercreature emerges. The core idea here is Earth is reaching the globally optimal form - an advanced godCreature, it may slow down near the true end but we will be quite happy when the curve shoots up fast soon. It re-generates itself on its OWN, and then repeats that step lol. After each step, it gets faster at emerging. The best example is more humans on Earth, and making each work faster (ex. through electrical computation over chemical based signals).
So, evolution gets quicker near the end (think of Earth becoming the creatureGod) because of self-regeneration, self-emergence, self-attention architecture, self-organization. Like ANN training, there is still randomized domains like bugs to this very day, but the domains are aligning and synchronizing like brain waves propagating across structured layers of hierarchy, stronger connections are being made and more cooperation occurs than lions fighting solo. Evolution is quicker near end because the self-organization/self-regeneration on Earth allows for double the self-regeneration, it replaces nodes with faster ones, not just duplicates them. it does that on text information too - first it finds better translate encodings/decodings using Self-Attention, then does entailment adding on-topic similar words cat was in the [cage] The more context you have, the better the disambiguation of other words....i.e. the more added words to the story result in better translation of each word 1) All works by physics. 2) Evolution on Earth (until gets you nanobotGodPlanet) is exponentially faster. 3) Evolution on Earth is self-organizing, as said, physics. 4) The reason it is exponentially faster is because the closer it gets to the globally optimal form, the better (hence faster) it can repair and settle into that equilibrium state! 5) If damaged, it can repair and go BACK to the optimal form again quickly - 45% of the superorganism can be blown to bits yet it can pick them up and reach the final state very quickly (it won't take 45% of the time evolution took). ------------------------------------------ Artificial General Intelligence List: AGI Permalink: https://agi.topicbox.com/groups/agi/Tde25a2a6567c862c-M4c38c7a6aa034a998cc1b5a1 Delivery options: https://agi.topicbox.com/groups/agi/subscription
